The Indian Python feeds on animals such as rodents, small birds, lizards, primates and small rumniants. Its head is triangular in shape. Its upper and lower jaws can dislocate as they are not connected to allow it to swallow very large prey ítems. Its teeth are sharp, and backward curving so that its prey cannot escape once in its mouth. It is not venemous and kills its its prey by constriction.
