Description | The specimens in the collection of Joan Vicente i Castells originate from the fossil plant deposits from the Upper Cretaceous of Isona. This deposit has to date provided examples of 134 plant species and 13 new taxa. The material was collected by Joan Vicente i Castells, who studied it and wrote about it, and was donated to the Museum in 2002. It is the most important palaeobotanical collection from the era in Catalonia and one of the most abundant in Europe. |
